DAMAGE WOULD BE RECOVERD: FOOTBALL HEADERS








Professional footballers have to hit dozens of headers during a single match, and the number can climb upto hundreds more over a week’s training- which adds up to tens of thousands of blows to the head over their career.
According to Scientists headers may be linked to long-term brain damage.

Ian St John,  Who Played for Liverpool between 1961-71, states six of his teammates- within the group of about 16 players have been diagonosed with Alzheimer’s.[ A progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions.]
"I don't know about today's light ball, but in our era, heading that heavy ball day in and day out - not just at matches but training as well - the lads know at this stage of their lives we're either dying or have dementia.

if you look at my career, 800 career games, and then you take into training, the numbers start to stack up and it could be anywhere between 10,000 and 50,000 times that you're heading the ball.
‘Headers would be banned for youth’


The former SFA chief executive believes a ban on heading for under-12s will come into effect
Chief executive of former Scottish Footbaal Association,Gordon Smith, says he expects youth footbaal to ban headers.
“Certainly , I knowm, I’m an ambassador of the Scottish Youth FA in Scotland and they’re looking at it because they understand what happened in America  regarding the banning of kids for heading the ball from 11 downwards.
‘Training is also a responsible factor’

Youth coach Nathan Sargeson says training sessions should limit the amount of headers in the future.
